Job Overview
Assist welders in fabricating and assembling awnings by cutting angles accurately, reading a tape measure, and supporting the welders. This position will also assist the awning installers in the field along with unloading trucks. Some overtime is needed. Position starts at $20.50/hour with an increase after 90 days along with quarterly bonuses. Weekly W2 paycheck with benefits. Bilingual preferred.
Duties
- Cut metal according to specifications in a safe manner under the direction of a certified welder.
- Fabricate metal components based on blueprints and technical drawings.
- Utilize hand and power tools.
- Install various types of awnings for commercial and residential customers.
- Unload deliver trucks.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate a forklift to move heavy materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise during the fabrication process.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, angles, and material requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and improve skills as needed.
- Able to use hand and power tools to shape, grind, and prepare materials for assembly.
