What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Boat Captain position at Airboat Alaska?
Airboat Alaska is seeking a Boat Captain for summer 2025 in Juneau, Alaska. The position is part-time or full-time, through the summer, May-September 2023. Work remotely in the Taku River area in beautiful Juneau, Alaska. Job requirements are as follows:
- USCG Merchant Mariners Credentials for up to six passengers on an uninspected vessel
- Be First Aid/CPR certified and be prepared to be a first responder in case of emergency
- Be available to work 3-5 days per week during the season
- Greet and engage in friendly conversation with the guests
- Instruct guests on safety procedures and be willing and able to enforce our safety policies
- Fit guests with safety gear including hearing protection and flotation devices
- Interact with guests including answering questions and taking photos
- Operate airboats along the Taku River with max of 6 guests on board
- Be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the airboats and safety equipment
- Must at all times be clean, well groomed, courteous, honest and reliable
- Must possess a positive attitude that is friendly, considerate, and energetic
- Must assist with grounds/lodging maintenance, cleaning and general support
Enjoy the once in a lifetime experience to live and work remotely in southeast Alaska. Meals are provided for Captains during working days. A season-completion bonus if offered for a captain who works the entire tour season. Airboat experience is not necessary to apply. All boat, job, and site specific training will be provided.

Pay: $250.00 - $325.00 per day
