Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Technical Project Manager II (Aviation Engineering) to join our team in Grand Prairie, Texas.

In this role, you will be coordinating engineering activities (incl.Flight Test as applicable) in the frame of feasibility studies, offer preparation, STC development and aircraft retrofit or completions. You will also ensure all engineering data and documents are developed and released in support of products meeting the performance levels set forth by agreement of the program, design office business plan and the general Airbus Helicopter Group policy and engineering goals to be on-time, on-quality and on-cost.

Your Challenges:

  • Manage complex Engineering project execution

  • Manage assigned engineering projects execution within AHI scope of Airbus Design Delegation.

  • Deliver feasibility studies, offers, or technical data & solutions in agreed time frame, performance, quality and hours/costs, in line with project initial Statement of Work or its amendment.

  • Manage evaluation, presentation and arbitration of different technical solutions during the applicable phase of projects (ex:PDR, scope change review...).

  • Responsible for ensuring assigned engineering projects remain on time and on budget. Develops recovery plans and quote updates as needed when project scope changes.

  • Coordinate with the engineering management team to obtain and manage required project engineering resources.

  • Define, implement and monitor detailed development logic/schedule with associated deliverables target dates & and allocated budget.

  • Ensure coordination of multiple concurrent projects and set priorities as needed.

  • Ensure breakdown of deliverables is in accordance with configuration management, change management and system engineering processes.

  • Participate in planning of engineering demand and resources in line with activity forecast from engineering various Customers (Program and Support organizations).

  • Monitor projects KPI's and manage risk/opportunities.

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical degree or relevant experience.

  • 7 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with managing complex engineering projects.

  • Directly related work experience in aviation completions or STC development projects (FAA governed)

  • Familiarity with Airbus Helicopter models, configuration and / or STC's

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 90% - Daily except when on travel.

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms daily

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily

  • Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices daily

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice rarely

  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily

  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
