Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Summer Intern to join our Regional Corporate Strategy Team based in Herndon, VA.
We’re now accepting applications for our 2025 Summer Internship Program. These positions are designed to provide students the opportunity to enhance their theoretical foundation through practical experience focused in several areas of the aerospace industry.
The Strategy Team:
Airbus Americas' strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's long-term vision and operational focus across its divisions, including commercial aircraft, helicopters, and defense and space. Based in Herndon, Virginia, the team is responsible for defining and implementing corporate strategies tailored to the North American market. Key responsibilities include gathering competitive intelligence, supporting executive decision-making, and aligning regional goals and strategy with Airbus’ global objectives. The team’s work impacts areas such as innovation, sustainability, transformation, and market expansion, while fostering collaboration with stakeholders across the aerospace ecosystem.

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices: In our nation’s capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the extensive role the company plays in the aviation, aerospace and defense industries in the U.S. and around the world. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters - located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Herndon, Virginia (where this position will be based).

Your Duties:
- Data Gathering and Analysis (30%) : Research and analyze internal and external data to support decision-making, including market trends, competitor performance, and industry developments.
- Strategic Initiative Support (25%) : Assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives by working with business unit leaders to solve complex problems.
- Financial Modeling and Quantitative Analysis (20%) : Conduct financial modeling and other quantitative analyses to evaluate business opportunities and challenges.
- Qualitative Research (15%) : Participate in customer interviews and other qualitative research to gather insights for strategic recommendations.
- Presentation Development (10%) : Create frameworks, presentations, and reports to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
Position Requirements:
- Willing to temporarily live in the Herndon, VA (DC metro) area during the internship; if not already local to the area.
- Must be enrolled in an applicable program at least at the undergraduate level at an accredited University
- Ability to communicate well (written and verbal) in English
- Proficiency in Google Suite applications, good knowledge of aviation terminology and industry history.
- Authorized to Work in the U.S. without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
- School projects in related fields
- Keen interest in airline industry and/or aircraft manufacturing
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to gather aviation industry competitive intelligence
- Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
- Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
- Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
- Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer and in meetings.
