What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant position at Aircraft Component Repair?
Job Summary (Salary Range $20-$26 per hour):
The Tool Crib Attendant/Purchasing Clerk receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, materials, fixtures, components, and shop supplies for issuing to workers. This position is responsible for maintaining manual and/or digital records of tools and equipment issued and returned and generates and receives purchase orders. Additionally, this position regularly assists the Shipping & Receiving position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain Tool Crib organization, including issuing, storing and arranging tools and supplies in an orderly and efficient manner.
- Manage tool inventory, including maintaining minimum stock levels.
- Issue stock components and supplies as required and maintain accurate record of issuances and returns in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Generate purchase orders in Quantum for Tooling & Shop supplies and receive purchase orders in Quantum.
- Coordinate with various departments to fulfill tool or supply requests timely and efficiently.
- Assist with Shipping & Receiving duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned. This position occasionally requires mandatory overtime, with little or no advance notice.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of machine shop tools, including cutting tools, inspection tools and basic machine shop supplies.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language, in accordance with the eligibility requirements of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 145.
- All maintenance and inspection-related positions are required to submit to pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 120.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Tool crib or similar role required, preferably in a machine shop setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand for prolonged lengths of time, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Continually utilize fingers and hands to manipulate equipment controls and make manual adjustments.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently required to move up to 50 pounds. Will occasionally be required to move over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Regularly required to utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Regular exposure to noise from machines, equipment, and tools.
