What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving position at Aircraft Parts Distribution?
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming shipments, and manage inventory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.
· Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
· Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned.
· Maintain database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to departments as required.
· Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
· Prepares bills of lading and shipments.
· Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
· Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
· Load trucks using a forklift.
· Verifies all International shipments have proper documentation and verifies all correct paperwork is filed with the US Government.
· Becoming hazmat certified to ship hazardous materials and handle hazardous waste.
· Take photos of the parts received.
· Scanning receiving documents and placing them in the correct location.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
o Forklift certificate preferred.
o Hazmat certificate preferred.
o Must have valid Kansas driver's license
o Must be insurable to drive on company insurance

o AES Software
o Imaging Software
- Other skills required:
o Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
o Basic understanding of quality systems.
o Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
o Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
