Description of Responsibilities :
The Senior Group Benefits Specialist is responsible for the oversight and ongoing management of assigned client accounts typically in the 25-250 employee market. This position coordinates with the producers and team to facilitate the quoting of new and / or renewing employee benefits, ensuring the highest level of service is met and working with fully insured, level funded, TPA health plans, and other non-medical benefits. In addition, you will maintain the ongoing client relationship with vendor partners and work to proactively identify emerging trends.
At times this position will be interacting with clients to clarify information and potentially service issues however servicing accounts will not be their primary focus.
This position must be knowledgeable about carrier requirements and guidelines, be open to learning, and work within their team and agency.
As such, the Benefits Specialist requires strong skills in relationship building that ensures persistency of business and growth for the firm. This position works in conjunction with the Agent and other benefit specialists with the opportunity to manage other benefit specialists. The position is a visible representative and must act in a highly professional manner and demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of the company.
Job Duties :
- Send RFPs to carriers, follow up and collect proposals from carriers, ensure accuracy of received proposals.
- Analyze benefits and rates for all lines of coverage and work within existing Excel workbooks to prepare presentations for the agent with the selected best options to present to the group.
- Communicate and follow up with clients regarding the renewal process.
- Oversee client censuses & invoices with great detail to ensure accuracy .
- Coordinate and schedule presentations and ensure all items are completed in accordance with existing systems and processes
- Assist employees with basic service needs and be able to grow into more complex multi-step service issues
- Communicate with Producer about potential or existing problems as needed
- Foster strong and lasting relationships with carrier reps and client key contacts to ensure persistency of accounts
- Ensure high levels of service delivery to client accounts including, but not limited to :
Provide the highest quality of customer service to all callers at all times, which includes :
Giving every effort to exceed the customer's expectations for service
