Key Responsibilities
Boiler Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair firetube boiler controls, electrical systems, and fuel delivery components
- Conduct routine maintenance, system inspections, and performance testing to ensure compliance with safety and efficiency standards
- Maintain and repair burners, combustion systems, and auxiliary equipment
- Perform system calibrations, combustion tuning, and emissions testing to optimize performance
- Work on industrial boiler system integrations, including SCADA, BMS, and plant automation systems
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and commissioning of PLC-based boiler control systems
- Interface with mechanical, electrical, and automation teams to ensure seamless integration within plant environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, P&IDs, and engineering diagrams
- Travel to various customer sites throughout Metro New York to provide on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services
- Provide technical support and training to plant operators, facility managers, and maintenance teams
- Respond to emergency service calls, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and industry safety standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of service reports, inspections, and repair records
- Manage tools, test equipment, and service vehicle inventory to ensure readiness for fieldwork
- Support internal engineering teams with project planning and system upgrades
- Assist with start-up, commissioning, and testing of new boiler installations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred
- 6 years of hands-on experience in boiler maintenance, repair, and control system integration
- Experience working in industrial, mission-critical environments such as hospitals, data centers, or manufacturing plants
- Strong expertise in firetube boiler systems, controls, and fuel delivery systems
- Proficiency with PLC programming, SCADA, and industrial automation systems
- Knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, transmitters, and combustion controls
- Ability to troubleshoot systems without schematics and implement effective repairs
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS), burner management systems (BMS), and NFPA codes
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments
- Willingness to travel throughout Metro New York (company vehicle provided)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working in elevated areas and prolonged standing
- Frequent travel to industrial facilities, power plants, hospitals, and manufacturing sites
- Some exposure to hazardous conditions, requiring safety precautions and PPE
