The City of Palm Springs is seeking a Deputy Director of Capital Development for The Palm Springs International Airport (PSP). This position oversees the day-to-day operations of staff managing the Aviation Capital Program Division, ensuring efficient project execution, personnel management, and strategic oversight. The Deputy Director serves as a technical expert, providing guidance to the Executive Director and City leadership on critical capital initiatives. This role will manage a $4 billion, 20-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) while collaborating with regulatory agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The Deputy Director must be a confident communicator, capable of building strong relationships with internal teams, regional partners, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include :
- Oversee planning, design, engineering, and construction management for capital projects.
- Lead strategic capital planning to prioritize projects and optimize funding opportunities.
- Manage project budgets, contracts, and compliance with technical and legal requirements.
- Supervise and develop staff, fostering a culture of mentorship and professional growth.
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Present clear and concise reports to leadership, committees, and community groups.

Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $129,156 - $173,543 annually, depending on experience. A 5% COLA increase will take effect July 1, 2025. The City of Palm Springs offers a $15,000 bonus for this newly hired Deputy Director, to be paid over a two-year period.
