The Director of Managed Flight Control will plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate all aspects of Airshare flight operations for all managed and charter flights. This team member will create policies, develop, and implement programs, and plan and create procedures to support safe and efficient flight operations, in accordance with FAA regulations. You will be responsible for the combining of multiple operations departments and certificates with the eventual consolidation into one certificate.
The Director of Managed Flight Control will accomplish department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring flight operations and logistics support to the department. Supervision of professional and support staff requires effective leadership, team building, attention to numerous details, and creating an environment in which employees are engaged, motivated, and trusted. This is an onsite/in-person job located in Shelton, CT.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Build, Train, Direct, and Evaluate Flight Control Team including Mission Planning
- Hire, develop, and mentor new and existing staff
- Ensure Flight Control is properly trained
- Maintains internal confidence in the Flight Control Team
- Oversees Flight Operations
- Ensures that the company is compliant with FAR 135 and aircraft charter regulations
- Ensures that all Flight department activities are properly supervised and conducted in a safe manner
- Ensures that flights are scheduled legally and efficiently
- Ensures communication between flight control, pilots, and maintenance
- Oversees daily flight schedule
- Formulate strategies to minimize operational costs and develop logistics budgets, working closely with Finance Department to properly account for operational and logistics expenditures
- Assists is departmental budget and analyzes variances
- Other special needs to support the operation
- Develops Employee Incentivization Program for Flight Control
- Oversee special projects
- International Flight Planning
- Aid in the design and/or procurement of appropriate technology
- Participate in the Airshare safety committee meetings
- Ensures that the Company Safety policy is maintained and followed
- Ensures that Safety infractions are investigated
- Promotes Airshare safety culture
- Participates with Senior Management team on weekly Management Committee

- Works within the Department to promote a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service
- Performs other duties and assignments, as required
Qualified candidates must have 10 years of experience in private aviation preferred with demonstrated progressive leadership ability.
- Requires a bachelors degree or equivalent experience, an FAA Dispatch License or equivalent experience
- Ability to conduct business presentations for senior executives and other stakeholders
- Strong project management skills
- Strong PC-based computer skills; proficiency utilizing various software such as Microsoft Office; web-based e-mail/calendar applications; virtual office/cloud-based file sharing (i.e., OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft teams.)
- Must have at least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience within the last 6 years in a related position
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
