Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician will provide quality control and assurance throughout all phases of the production process, from raw materials to final products.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine visual inspections and specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
- Test, inspect, and approve raw materials based on established quality specifications.
- Identify faults in materials and manufacturing process through observation and testing.
- Use statistical methods to test product samples and evaluate the quality of finished products prior to delivery.
- Compare inspection and test results to company quality standard and report findings to the supervisor for final analysis and action.
- Develop, maintain, and trend inspection data and quality study results for review by technicians, supervisors, engineers, and other production staff.
- Consult with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
- Maintains quality records as needed.
- Follow all safety and company policies and guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skill/Abilities
- Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed for report completion.
- Ability to pass a background screen.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in quality assurance or quality control in the plastic injection molding field is preferred.
- An understanding of plastic injection molding processes, tooling, and materials is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
- Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment.
