Job Description:
The Supply Chain Director, Touring Coach Division is responsible for establishing and practicing a
clear tactical and strategic Supply Chain vision while leading the Purchasing, Scheduling, Material
Handling, and Production Control departments.
Summary & Responsibilities:
As the Supply Chain Director, Touring Coach Division you will lead the supply chain organization,
act as Supply Chain subject matter expert and business process owner for the go-live sustainment of
Microsoft Dynamics ERP system, and create and sustain commercial, supply and quality agreements.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership to the Supply Chain organization and mentor the next generation
of Supply Chain professionals.
- Ensure current SAGE 100 tools are used to track purchase price variances.
- Continuously enhance or improve existing policies, processes, and methods.
- Create and sustain commercial, supply and quality agreements.
- Work closely with other Value Stream leaders to address complex problems and ensure success
of the overall organization.
- Track and actively manage purchase price variances.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Establish close, positive relationships with other key business leaders and members of the
organization.
- Create supply sustainability across the supply chain.
- Lead supplier selection and supplier qualification process.
- Work as Business Process Owner for implementation, data accuracy, use, and improvement of
the Supply Chain portion of the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure the right part, right place, right time to support the production operation.
- Actively manage days on hand inventory and mitigate obsolescence.
- Use data to improve supplier performance via routine workshops.
- Utilize supplier development plans to enhance supply base.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Maintain material budgets.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5-7 years purchasing leadership in manufacturing environment.
- Proven success as supply chain manager, materials manager, purchasing manager, purchasing
officer or head of purchasing.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
Proven successes with negotiations and networking.
- Aptitude in decision-making and analyzing data.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Proven knowledge of KPI’s and early indicators management.
- Proven knowledge establishing preferred sourcing models (contract warehouse, consignment,
vendor management) leading to excellent inventory management.
- Experienced in open order management and missing parts management.
- Significant knowledge of material handling, with proven ability to lead lean continuous
improvement activities.
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field required. MBA is preferred.
