Job Description:
The Leave and Safety Administrator will oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring
specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Worker’s
Compensation, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or longterm
disability plans. In addition, this role will provide support to the safety team.
Job Summary & Responsibilities:
- Communicates with associates regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures
that associates are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to
qualify for and to take leave.
- Works closely with outside third-party vendors to make sure leaves are processed in a timely fashion.
- Maintains reasonable communication with associates on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to
work; relays communication between associates, onsite clinic or other TPAs and their managers during
leave within reason.
- Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
- Advises managers and associates on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers’
compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Helps the safety team by creating safety alerts and other training materials.
- Maintain OSHA 300 log and track all restrictions.
- Administer the PPE reimbursement program as well as line up safety vendors to come onsite like Boot Truck.
- Help build out the iAuditor tool.
- Drafts and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state,
and local laws and regulations.
- Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA,
Workers Compensation and other applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Two years of human resource experience required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Completion of specialized certification or training on leave administration a plus.
