Airtech International is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to oversee the production engineering and quality departments at our Springfield, TN facility. This role will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of 24-hour engineering and quality personnel, ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of the AS9100 quality management system, and leading key plant and process improvement initiatives. As part of a global organization, the Engineering Manager will also collaborate with other Airtech sites to share best practices and drive operational excellence across the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the production engineering and quality departments, including direct oversight of 24-hour engineering and quality personnel to ensure a high level of productivity, quality, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with the AS9100 quality system, overseeing audits, process controls, and corrective actions to maintain quality standards across all operations.
- Manage and drive plant and process improvement projects, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and industry best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall production performance.
- Develop and manage project plans for plant upgrades, process changes, and new product introductions, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with other global Airtech sites to share knowledge, best practices, and standardize engineering and quality processes across the company.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Operations, Production, and R&D, to optimize product design and manufacturing processes, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure all engineering documentation is accurate and up to date, including process flows, product specifications, and quality documentation.
- Lead a team of engineers and quality personnel, providing mentorship, training, and performance management to ensure a high level of employee engagement and development.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering and quality departments and drive action plans to meet or exceed targets.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within production engineering or quality management.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and other quality management systems.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and implementing process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in project management, including the ability to lead and drive plant and process improvement projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on results.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
