About the Job:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee the logistics, delivery, setup, and breakdown of inflatables, tents, tables, and chairs for events in the Northern New Jersey area. This role is crucial in ensuring that all operations run smoothly, from planning routes to managing the team and handling customer interactions.
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery and installation of our equipment, managing a team of delivery drivers/helpers, and ensuring that everything meets safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that offers a unique opportunity to lead a team while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of delivery, setup, and takedown of inflatable units, tents, tables, chairs, and related supplies.
- Manage and coordinate the delivery team, ensuring efficient routing and timely deliveries.
- Supervise the loading, unloading, setup, inspection, and cleaning of event equipment.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including communicating safety protocols to customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction at all stages of the event.
- Track and manage inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring that everything is in good working condition.
- Ensure that all vehicles and trailers are maintained and compliant with safety regulations.
- Monitor and improve team performance, providing training and support to delivery staff.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and safety standards during transport.
- Review schedules and routes to optimize time and minimize delays.
- Collect payments for deliveries and services, and handle cash transactions where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in operations management or logistics, preferably within event services or a similar field.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; ability to operate a trailer in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ability to build relationships with customers and team members.
- Must be physically fit, capable of lifting and moving up to 200 lbs.
- Own a reliable pick-up truck with a tow hitch (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant certifications are a plus.
