Summary/Objective:
A Senior buyer will purchase materials, services, equipment and supplies of a complex nature for the operation of the company. Responsibilities include managing complex supplier relationships and commodities, international & domestics. Provides mentorship and guidance to Buyers and Assistant Buyers.

- Interface with suppliers, internal customers, manufacturing personnel, quality, shipping/receiving, sales and marketing, and finance to foster high external and internal customer satisfaction while adhering to company requirements and critical deadlines.
- Engages with suppliers in opportunities to grow both their business and our business positively.
- Source new product streams and identify new suppliers via RFQ standard practices. Confer with active and potential suppliers to obtain product or service information as price, availability, delivery schedule, payment terms, warranty time frame, and on-time delivery parameters.
- Proactively seeks opportunities for improvement with suppliers to obtain better quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
- Ensures Purchase Orders are placed and delivered on time and at cost. Ensures quality at every step of the purchasing process from initializing the quote to final award of the contract.
- Follows delegation of authority as defined by the finance policy for Purchase Order spend and obtains approvals as required.
- Ensure supplier compliance to part and performance specifications, terms, conditions, and requirements of the purchase order and contract and make recommendations when non-compliance occurs.
- Negotiate master purchasing agreements, add legal language where needed in agreements, and collaborate on contract administration with suppliers.
- Review bid proposals and administrate contracts within budgetary limitation and scope of authority.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Exempt and 40 hours
Travel: 2-5%
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- 8-10 relevant years International buying/ smart planning
- 4-6 Import, Export, Distribution experience.
- 3-5 years of buy/reselling experience.
- 3-5 years data mining and analysis.
- 4-6 years experience with Tariffs, Duty, and Ocean Freight
- 3-5 years experience speaking and presenting to Executive Leadership Team.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master degree in Business Administration (MBA).
- 12-15 relevant years international buying/ smart planning
- 7-9 years experience with MRP / ERP Systems. INFOR, highly preferred.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certificate
- CPSM or CPIM certification
- Experience with a variety of industry concepts, supply chain best practices, contract negotiations.
