Field Service Diesel Technician

AIS Construction Equipment is the oldest Michigan owned and operated heavy equipment company in the state and has been serving customers for over 60 years. We are looking for an experienced full-time Field Service Technician to join our team. This position is M - F day shift, home nightly. The ideal candidate will have a CDL-B with air brakes and will have the potential to park the truck at his/her residence.

Responsibilities:

• Regular travel in northern Detroit area in company-issued field service truck to and from a customers location to repair equipment in the field
• Diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of off-road heavy equipment
• Diesel engines
• Braking systems
• Driveline including clutch, flywheel, transmissions, and differentials
• Steering mechanisms and suspensions
• Electrical & hydraulic systems
• Mechanical systems
• Welding, cutting and fabricating
• Requisitioning parts and securing any equipment or trucking needed to complete repair
• Utilizing tablet/laptop to update job notes daily

Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• CDL B preferred
• Heavy equipment repair training or equivalent experience
• 2 years of heavy equipment experience
• Field/fleet service experience preferred
• Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
• Able to perform work on uneven surfaces, frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights
• Able to work in conditions that include loud noise and fumes, work on and around heavy and moving machinery, bend, walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time and use hand tools
• Must be able to pass a background/credit check and drug screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
