We are a growing company seeking initiative-taking and dedicated Waste Management (Solid and Recyclable) professionals to join our team. Reporting to the Waste Management Group Leader, this role requires a hands-on approach, innovative thinking, and the ability to assist in providing the delivery of high-quality solid waste and recycling collection services. Main Duties / Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
Collects solid waste and recyclable materials from established routes; empties and returns collection bins and designated recycling and green waste containers operates balers, compactors, drum crusher, forklifts, tuggers, electric pallet jack during collection and disposal activities.
Drives, operates, and maintains specialized vehicles, power equipment, tools and other solid waste collection equipment including hand operated hydraulic controls to lift and load refuse, in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Assist in the cleanup of waste spills.
Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment.
Safety and Compliance
Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed; recognizes, avoids, and immediately reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and injuries.
Demonstrate professional behavior always; report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared for work.
Collaboration and Reporting
Interacts with customers; informs them of solid waste and recycling collection guidelines.
Work effectively in a team environment and provide support and assistance to others.
Engagement and Innovation
Commitment to promoting and creating a safe work culture and positive work environment.
Perform other job duties as requested to support the business operations.
Required Qualification / Education
High school diploma or GED; college or technical school coursework completed is a plus
Minimum 6 months of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Knowledge of recycling process a plus
Good organization and record keeping skills
Powered Industrial Truck Certification (forklift and tugger) a plus
Desired Skills
Ability to operate a forklift or ability to learn the operation of driving a forklift
Ability to understand, communicate, and follow safety procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
Working / Physical Conditions
Ability to work nights, overtime as needed, including weekends supporting production activities
Work conducted in a manufacturing facility
Position requires bending, standing, kneeling, reaching, and lift up to 50 pounds
