Manufacturing Engineering Technician (MET) 1st Shift

General Summary

Perform detailed and complex job functions (i.e. Normal course of business activities). Investigate and recommend ways to improve efficiencies of daily job activities.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

. Analyze blueprints and interpret technical data

. Develop engineering (control plans, PFMEA's, raw material specifications, process control parameters, CP calculations, etc.)

. Maintain GED accuracy

. Implement engineering plans by evaluating current situations

. Develop machine and tooling specifications

. Modify equipment layouts for individual lines, cells, and zones

. Train manufacturing members on new and improved processes

. Perform other duties as assigned in order to ensure achievement of section, department, or company plan

. Ensure all safety policies are maintained and adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures

. Ensure all machines are in compliance with OSHA

. Ensure compliance with Engineering change procedures

. Maintain product structure and routings, etc…

. Assure QS 9000 compliance as it relates to engineering and maintenance

Authority

. Stop production for safety related issues

. Authorize repair work

. Initiate capability studies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

. Ability to prioritize workload

. Effective planning and implementation skills

. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

. Knowledge of machine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and materials

. Effective trouble-shooting skills

. Strong “hands-on” ability

. Capable of reading and understanding schematics

. Basic Computer skills

. Knowledge of OSHA regulations

. Good verbal, written and interpersonal communicational skills required

Salary Range: $32.00/hour - $38.00/hour
