Supervisory Responsibilities
The Waste Management Team Group Lead will have direct supervision of two (2) Team Members
Main Duties / Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Provide guidance, training, and support to achieve operational goals effectively.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight
- Manage and coordinate waste collection, sorting, disposal, and recycling activities.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of equipment, including compactors, balers, drum crushers, forklifts, tuggers, and carts.
- Monitor waste generation and disposal practices to identify and implement waste diversion opportunities.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.
- Stay informed on waste management regulations and emerging best practices.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Work closely with other departments to integrate waste management innovations that enhance production efficiency.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation of waste management activities.
- Maintain accurate records, including bills of lading (BoL) and compliance documentation.
Engagement and Innovation
- Promote waste reduction initiatives and cost-saving measures among internal and external stakeholders.
- Explore and implement innovative technologies to improve sustainability efforts.
Required Qualification / Education
- High school diploma or GED; college or technical school coursework completed is a plus
- Minimum 6 months of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Minimum of 1 year in management or supervisory role
- Knowledge of recycling process a plus
- Good organization and record keeping skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- OSHA 10 or 30, HAZWOPER, Powered Industrial Truck Certification (forklift and tugger) a plus
Desired Skills
- Ability to operate a forklift or ability to learn the operation of driving a forklift
- Ability to understand, communicate, and follow safety procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
- Ability to communicate the waste management and recycling process and procedures effectively to Team Members
