The Internationalization team is looking for a Technical Internationalization Program Manager to manage the AI and Machine Translation aspect of the localization process, work closely with engineering, design, vendors and translation teams on implementing, measuring success and improving AI / MT solution to meet or exceed project stakeholder quality expectations and to shape the experience of millions of Pinners around the globe.
As a Technical Localization Program Manager, you will develop a quality measurement framework for assessing AI and machine translation outputs, prepare and manage assets for MT training, and identify and implement best industry practices for AI and MT models including building guidelines to translate with ethical AI. You will build and maintain linguistic assets, collaborate with TMS and localization vendors to enhance output quality, manage quality escalations, promote localization best practices across the company, and ensure alignment with security policies in software development.
What you’ll do :
- Establish a quality measurement framework to assess MT and AI quality (both automatically and via human evaluation).
- Build and maintain linguistic assets for MT and AI training (glossaries, style guides, translation memories, etc.).
- Identify best AI and MT implementation models for the translation step based on industry best practices and internal testing; train, evaluate and maintain the models.
- Work with a TMS vendor to develop and implement workflows that incorporate AI to improve quality of the output (automated post-editing, quality prediction and smart routing).
- Collect feedback from various stakeholders to establish quality requirements and measure MT output quality on a regular basis. Develop and execute improvement plans when quality standards are not met. Manage escalations on linguistic quality with vendors.
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to promote localization best practices and advocate for technical improvements in the localization process.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the localization workflow and work with team members to implement solutions.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
