Maintenance Engineer

JSK Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in South Bend, IN. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a commercial or institutional maintenance environment, with knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as light carpentry and painting skills. Certification in pool operation is preferred.

Education & Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in commercial or institutional maintenance
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Light carpentry and painting skills
• Certification in pool operation preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees
• Valid driver's license required
• Preventive maintenance background knowledge

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Long hours occasionally required
• Heavy work – Lifting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Ability to stand during entire shift
• Professionally deal with difficult situations/people
• Meet deadlines as required
• Meet multiple priorities of business demands
• Need to work a variety of hours, varied tasks under varied conditions
• Must be flexible with schedule as needed

Duties & Functions:

• Maintain and repair all equipment in laundry, kitchen, guestrooms, banquet areas and public space
• Repair refrigeration, plumbing and electrical fixtures in guest rooms, kitchen or laundry to manufacturer's specifications and brand standards
• Monitor life safety systems and respond to alerts as necessary
• Maintain and repair carpet, wall covering, furniture, painted surfaces, change burned out light bulbs and other cosmetic repairs in guest rooms, banquet area, public areas and as assigned, preventive maintenance
• Clean and treat all food and beverage floor drains as needed
• Maintain chemical levels in automatic mechanical systems
• Repair irrigation or sprinkler systems
• Remove and install water heater

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
• On Call if needed
