As a Family Provider, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work directly with your loved one, supporting them in achieving their individual goals and maintaining a high quality of life. This role allows you to provide personalized care while helping them grow and thrive. You will receive training and certification (if not already certified) to deliver essential services tailored to your loved one’s needs. These services may include:
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Benefits
- $175 Bi-Weekly Bonus: Earn a $175 bonus every two weeks by maintaining full compliance with training, attendance, performance standards, and timely submission of required documentation ends February 2025.
Habilitation
Helping your loved one develop and enhance skills such as self-help, communication, and attention to tasks. You'll support their progress toward specific goals designed to improve their independence and daily functioning.
Respite
Providing care for your loved one while giving the primary caregiver (often another family member) a break. This may include activities such as outings, watching movies, or enjoying other activities your loved one loves.
Attendant Care
Assisting your loved one with personal care and daily living activities. This may include tasks like brushing teeth, preparing meals, doing laundry, and other essential care.
Requirements
To fulfill this role, you will need:
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Article 9 certification
- A Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

Basic & Key Responsibilities for Family Providers:
As a Family Provider, your role involves providing direct care and support to your loved one in their home environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Daily Living Support:
- Assisting your loved one with dressing and grooming.
- Preparing and feeding meals, snacks, and beverages as needed.
- Supporting basic household chores such as cleaning and laundry.
- Coordinating grocery shopping or deliveries.
- Ensuring a safe and clean living environment.
- Health and Safety:
- Monitoring and ensuring the health and safety of your loved one.
- Administering prescribed medications as directed by a medical professional.
- Taking and recording vital signs, height, and weight when necessary.
- Reporting any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate parties.
- Transportation & Activities:
- Transporting your loved one to appointments, visits, or recreational activities.
- Facilitating community outings and encouraging participation in hobbies, studies, or social activities.
- Emotional Support:
- Providing emotional support and companionship.
- Actively engaging with your loved one throughout the day.
- Program Implementation:
- Implementing habilitation objectives/goals as outlined in the Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
- When applicable, following and reinforcing behavior-building plans.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Completing all required documentation and progress notes before the end of your shift.
- Preparing and maintaining a monthly activity calendar and weekly menu.
- Completing and submitting incident reports as required.
- Reporting any suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities and your direct supervisor (mandatory reporter).
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a valid Driver's License (if transporting the client).
Duties:
- Following written and verbal care instructions.
- Charting or documenting observations for review.
- Assisting with hobbies, studies, or recreational activities.
- Maintaining health equipment and ensuring proper use.
- Responding promptly to emergencies.
- Providing companionship and actively listening to your loved one.
