Job description

The Advanced Manufacturing Preparation Cohorts are education, skills development, training and preparations workforce development programs. We are now enrolling. The cohorts offer a solid foundational pathway into aerospace and advanced manufacturing career opportunities.

Those with no experience are encouraged to become part of this, and experienced candidates will also greatly benefit from this opportunity.

Location:

Lacey MakerSpace /Thurston County (other locations in WA State found on website)

• Class Dates: April 9 – June 18, 2025 | 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Length of Program: 10 Weeks (Monday – Friday)
• Location: Lacey MakerSpace ( Lacey, WA 98503)
• Structure of Program: Classroom learning takes place in person from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, students will complete independent study from home.
• Class Requirement: Washington State Resident, 18 and older, and must attend each in-person class. Complete all application and funding paperwork.

You will learn:

• Blueprint reading
• Precision measuring
• Math for manufacturing
• LEAN
• Shop & Intro to machining
• Tool use and conventional machining

After completing ten weeks.

• Exceptional cohort members will be linked to interviews
• Interviewing assistance and job application assistance
• You will also work with a Career Navigation which includes resume building, soft-skill development, interview prep, salary negotiations, and a review of a self guided job search of advanced manufacturing employment opportunities.
