Quality Control Field Technician
The Quality Control (QC) Field Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of projects by conducting testing and calculations to verify specification compliance. This position requires strong teamwork skills, as the QC Technician is an integral part of the successful completion of work directed by the Quality Control (QC) Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field testing and various calculations to determine specification compliance
- Directly report to and be accountable to the QC Manager
- Communicate effectively with the QC Manager regarding problems that can affect the operation
- Prioritize tasks efficiently during shift hours
Requirements:
- Graduation from high school
- Preferred: 2 years of current FDOT project work experience
- CTQP - Asphalt Paving Levels 1 and 2 certifications (Ajax can provide if needed)
- Ability to take directions and work well in a team environment
- Computer use: Excel and Word
- Ability to communicate (in English) and require knowledge of general mathematics, reading, and writing
Work Environment:
The QC Field Technician will work in outdoor Florida conditions, with exposure to noise and heated materials. This may include working in roadway construction environments, asphalt paving operations, asphalt manufacturing plants, and testing laboratories.
