Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
MT Technician shall work on a maintenance team and also be able to work independently to ensure continuous operation of equipment at AJIN USA. These activities include supporting production (in minimizing downtime during production hours) and PM activities and tasks. The MT Technician shall troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
PM activities are keys to AJIN USA’s maintenance team success. During times not in direct repair of equipment, MT Technician shall perform preventative, predictive, and other activities that also includes routine maintenance tasks to support minimizing of production downtime.
Other support activities include cleaning, organizing, and sweeping of work area. Work also includes welding, forming, and fabrication of required fixtures, shelving, and other tools and materials as necessary to meet department needs.
Weekend and holidays are essential in completing tasks and preventive maintenance activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Repair and maintain all production and other plant machinery and equipment
2. Rapid decision making and action as necessary to troubleshoot correct, repair or replace electromechanical, electrical, and mechanical equipment and devices such as switches, sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
3. Follow preventive and predictive maintenance guidelines outlined for AJIN USA
4. Responsible for repair/monitoring of production and utility equipment such as ventilation, compressor, lighting, cooling water, utilities, dock/high speed door
5. Complete daily work log and all necessary checklists outlined for department
6. Check-off and verify that daily production equipment checksheets are completed
7. Cleaning, wiping, and sweeping of work area and department responsible areas or assigned by team leader, supervisor, engineer, and manager.
8. Support assembly, press, and facility related projects
9. Complete weekend work plan
10. Follow all monthly/shutdown maintenance plan
11. Verify completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly checklists and other documentation in support of production
12. Support company 5S3C and “Improvement Suggestion” programs
13. Participation in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
14. All other activities requested by department team leader, supervisor, engineer and manager
Requirements
· High level of mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills
· Willing to work a changing shift schedule and available for weekend PM or repair work that includes holidays
· Ability to lift 50 pounds plus
· Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings
· Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication
· Basic tool sets including a tool-belt with essential tools: screwdrivers, pliers, allen wrench set, and crescent wrench. Carry & support radio communications at all times during work hours.
