Job Description :
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for the planning, directing, and supervising employee work activities for the sanitation process and support departments during the 3rd shift of operation. Essential functions of this position include the supervision of all sanitation staff utilized on the shift, directing all sanitation functions within the shift, and ensuring a successful transition from sanitation to production. The Sanitation Lead will ensure all activities performed are in accordance with established safety, food safety, and sanitation specifications.
Hourly rate for this position starts at $27.00 / hr plus a $1 / hr shift differential, with regular pay increases at 3, 6, and 12 months provided attendance and performance are in good standing.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the sanitation process and ensure employees are;
- following GMPs and SOPs,
- using proper safety precautions, including chemical usage safety,
- reporting equipment wear, metal corrosion, equipment breakdowns, etc.,
- cleaning equipment in accordance with SOPs and general cleaning procedures, and
- properly assembling equipment and production lines for scheduled production runs.
- Maintain daily Sanitation documentation to verify sanitation activities and to ensure compliance to standards
- Coordinate with Maintenance Team Leaders and Sanitation Team Leaders to ensure completion of set-up / production essential critical equipment repairs
- Maintain and carry out plant Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOPS); maintain SQF policies and procedures, and the Sanitation Manual
- Train, document, and monitor adherence to training as needed, including :
- Chemical safety and awareness
- Energy Isolation Procedures (LOTO)
- SOP's
- JSA's
- GMP's
- Work with sanitation Team Leads to maintain inventory of sanitation aids, chemical cleaners and sanitizers, and other sanitation equipment.
- Oversee the effectiveness and adequacy of all cleaning activities via pre-operational inspection.
- Provide technical support and lead troubleshooting efforts to find the root cause on issues and microbiological results in the process and / or facility.
- Develop and recommend continual facility and equipment improvements and cleaning procedures
- Support and implement processes and system improvements to continually provide the cost management, high quality and on-time delivery initiatives, while maintaining optimum sanitary conditions
- Establish and maintain good plant communication skills and work with others in a team-like manner to accomplish work objectives.
- Work with Sanitation Manager and Human Resources to administer disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Drive 5S practices while generating and implementing process and / or productivity improvements
- Cover Sanitation Manager responsibilities during absences
