What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Expeditor (Swizzle) position at AJS Hotels?
The legendary Galt House Hotel is currently hiring a Restaurant Expeditor for it's upscale Swizzle Restaurant . The primary role of the Restaurant Expeditor is to acts as a critical link between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring the smooth flow of food orders and maintaining the high-quality presentation and timing expected in a fine dining establishment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Duties :
- Coordinate the flow of food orders between the kitchen and servers.
- Review tickets to ensure accuracy, prioritizing and organizing dishes according to timing and table needs.
- Inspect each dish for proper presentation, portion size, temperature, and adherence to the restaurant's standards before it is served.
- Address any issues or discrepancies with the kitchen staff immediately.
- Serve as the liaison between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring clear and efficient communication.
- Notify servers of any changes, delays, or special requests.
- Maintain an organized and clean expediting station to facilitate smooth operations.
- Monitor the timing of dishes to ensure all items for a table are ready to be served simultaneously.
- Support the team in providing a seamless dining experience for guests by ensuring food quality and timely delivery.
- Assist with restocking the kitchen pass or expediting area as needed.
- Step in to support servers or kitchen staff during peak hours, if required.
