RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement innovative safety protocols and environmental policies, leveraging advanced EH&S principles and technology.
- Ensure a deep understanding of global EH&S standards and regulations.
- Utilize advanced safety management software to track, analyze, and report on safety performance, compliance status, and incident investigations.
- Design and conduct comprehensive safety training programs, focusing on operational safety and environmental stewardship.
- Perform thorough risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and opportunities for process enhancements.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate EH&S considerations into new product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while managing the regulatory requirements for both domestic and international product shipments.
- Maintain all necessary permits, licenses, and records for operations within a steel equipment fabrication environment.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis for safety incidents, developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to avoid future occurrences.
- Establish and support a Health and Wellness program to foster overall employee well-being.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in safety and environmental management, ensuring effective execution of safety procedures.
- Stay up to date with evolving EH&S regulations and industry trends, applying relevant updates to company practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to address and resolve complex safety and environmental challenges.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on the safe use of abrasives within the surface preparation industry.
- Travel up to 10% domestically for site assessments, audits, and training as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or Certified Standards Professional (CSP) are preferred or attainable.
- Proven experience working with international, federal, state, and local authorities to secure and maintain necessary approvals, licenses, permits, and certifications.
- Expertise in collaborative equipment design and integrating EH&S programs into PQDC (People, Quality, Delivery, Cost) visual management systems.
- Ability to contribute to trade journals and present at industry and government conferences.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
