Metallurgical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the casting and refining processes of Copper and Copper-based alloys.
• Work closely with engineering and management teams to identify capital investment opportunities.
• Lead projects aimed at improving energy efficiency.
• Serve as the expert in casting and refining operations.
• Enhance operational efficiency by cultivating a performance-driven culture focused on continuous improvement.
• Implement waste reduction initiatives.
• Design and implement training programs to promote best-in-class safety practices and operational processes.
• Develop and optimize material charging procedures to minimize material costs.
• Maintain product quality and maximizing machine uptime.
• Oversee the testing and quality control processes related to raw material procurement.
• Provide expert analysis and insights to support product quality claims.
• Increase the use of recycled materials and automating labor-intensive processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry required.
• P.E. License preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals like thermodynamics, physics, strength of materials, failure analysis, and basic metallurgy.
• Technical knowledge and experience with copper related processes is highly beneficial.
