Key Responsibilities:
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer will design, maintain, and modify extrusion dies/tools to enhance quality, reduce cycle times, and meet production needs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop durable tooling.
- Analyze and refine tooling designs to improve extrusion performance, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues.
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer will support die setup, changeovers, and production efficiency.
- Ensure tooling adheres to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with production teams on die handling and maintenance practices.
- Monitor, inspect, and maintain dies/tools to extend lifespan and maintain performance.
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer will document performance and manage schedules for refurbishments.
- Ensure tooling meets dimensional and surface quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for defects.
- Work with drafting, production, and maintenance teams to resolve tooling issues and train staff on die handling procedures.
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer will support new product launches by developing tooling solutions and conducting trials to ensure readiness for production.
Requirements:
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
- Must have 3-5 years of process engineering experience from aluminum production manufacturing facility.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes and tooling design.
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer must have proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with tool and die materials, heat treatment, and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- The Tool and Die Process Engineer must be flexible in shifts and schedule
