Job Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Plant Manager to lead daily operations on the shop floor, working closely with the team. This position requires active involvement in production, with the manager spending their time on the floor, directly engaging with employees. We need someone with practical manufacturing experience, not just desk-based or high-level supervisory roles.
This is a full-time, on-site role, with no travel expected. Candidates must live within 30 miles of the facility, as most employees are based within 10-15 miles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Plant Manager must oversee raw material and component purchasing, interpreting engineering drawings.
- Must be managing vendor relationships
- Steel/shop purchasing along with outsourcing to multiple vendors on a daily/weekly basis is involved with this position.
Qualifications:
- The Plant Manager must hold a degree from a related field.
- Must have 4 years of management experience
- Must have 5 years of recycling/ waste material manufacturing industry experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
- Experience with purchasing and vendor coordination
- Must live closer to the location
