What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Manager position at Ajulia Executive Search?
Job Responsibilities :
Develop and implement new processes to enhance efficiency within the Shipping and Packing department.
Provide training and mentorship to new consolidators and assistant consolidators, offering guidance to ensure they meet performance expectations.
Collaborate with other internal teams to optimize workflows and improve overall efficiency.
Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
Oversee departmental scheduling, including managing overtime, to ensure adequate staffing and meet production deadlines.
Ensure quality control of packaging processes, including proper hazmat declarations, packaging, and labeling.
Conduct annual performance evaluations for consolidators and assistant consolidators, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for growth.
Organize and lead monthly meetings with consolidators to review performance, address concerns, and share important updates.
Address employee relations issues within the department, resolving conflicts fairly and promptly.
Assist with consolidations as needed to support team efforts and ensure customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally in logistics or warehouse management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards of performance and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Shipping and Packing operations and procedures.
- Familiarity with hazmat regulations and safety standards is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of training and developing team members effectively.
