Client Bookkeeping Associate
Job Summary:
The Client Bookkeeping Associate assists the Client Bookkeeping Manager with accurate and efficient bookkeeping services to a portfolio of clients. This role involves maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and assisting clients with their day-to-day accounting needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Financial Record Maintenance:
- Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process client invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
Payroll Support:
- Assist in processing client payroll, including calculating wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with client requirements and tax regulations.
Client Communication and Support:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, answering bookkeeping-related questions and resolving issues.
- Assist clients with bookkeeping inquiries and provide support on financial matters as needed.
- Ensure clients receive timely and accurate information for decision-making.
Accounting Software Management:
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) to maintain client accounts and track transactions.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date data entry into client accounting systems.
- Assist clients with using accounting software and troubleshooting any software-related issues.
Tax and Compliance Support:
- Assist in preparing necessary financial documentation for tax filings, ensuring that records are complete and accurate.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting and tax laws to ensure client compliance.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and suggest areas for efficiency improvements in the bookkeeping process and recommend best practices.
- Maintain organized and systematic client files and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with clients professionally.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, with possible flexibility for remote work or hybrid work options.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods, such as month-end or tax season.
