Summary
Under general supervision, processes customer sales transactions at the front cash registers or Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals. Maintains proper control of cash, aids in stocking sales floor, ensures customer satisfaction and safeguards market assets.This position reports to the store management team.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age. Some cashier or customer service experience preferred. Must successfully pass a background check. Must be able to work some eveings, weekends, and holiday.s
Examples of Duties
- Computes bill, itemized lists and tickets showing amount due from customer.
- Receives payment by cash, check, debit card, credit card or gift card.
- Responsible for cash accountability.
- Issues receipts, change due to customers, refunds, credits, coupons or rain checks.
- Operates cash register or POS terminal by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, enter PLU or UPC manually, compile printed list and display cost of customer purchase, tax and rebates on monitor screen.
- Stocks sales floor shelves, cold case, cooler and freezer.
- Greets customers entering the market and responds promptly to customer needs.
- Maintains clean and orderly checkout area, interior and exterior store appearance.
- Maintains high standards of market image, ensuring the Market is clean and inviting to customers.
- Perform other work related duties as assigned.

- Familiarity with grocery or convenience store operations and business practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
