What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Home Direct Support Professional position at AK Nurtured Living?
BASIC FUNCTION: The DSP will positively engage with and provide for client needs. DSP will ensure Clients work on daily goals,engage in household tasks, community events and recreational activities. DSP will assist with household tasks when not actively engaged with clients.
TASK:
Provide Direct Care to clients experiencing cognitive delays and mental health challenges including drug addiction
Assist in scheduling medical appointments
Assist in making personal appointments, visits, trips, etc.
Assist Clients with Hygiene tasks
Assist Clients with maintaining a clean organized environment (see below****)
Maintain structures and routines
Maintain Safety of clients and home
Daily documentation
Collaborate with other/ all Direct Care Providers
Process with Client and other Direct Care Providers regarding behavioral concerns, conflicts, and report all instances to AKNL.
Stay in compliance with all State of Alaska Regulations and AKNL
Provide Medication Management (Med Administration, MAR, refills, pickup, ordering, etc.)
Assist Clients with shopping for necessities as needed (food, dietary needs, cleaning supplies, etc)
Main Meal and Light Meal Preparation
Other duties as assigned by AK NL : Home cleanliness

REQUIREMENTS:
Complete State of Alaska Background Check
Must be at least eighteen years of age
Maintain Alaska Driver’s License
Minimum High School Diploma
Maintain required trainings
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Residential and Community settings
Flexible schedule depending on client and home needs.
Must be available for weekend work.
