FedEx Ground Delivery Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team as a contractor for FedEx Ground. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations within the Lenexa, Overland Park and Olathe, KS areas, while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to operate different types of vehicles, including box trucks and vans. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in route driving.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload goods, requiring in and out of a truck multiple times per day.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
- Navigate assigned delivery routes efficiently while maintaining timely delivery schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting positively with clients during deliveries.
- Handle heavy lifting of packages and materials as required during the loading and unloading process.
-Use FedEx Ground approved computer software to complete delivery and pickup of packages processes.

Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in courier or delivery services is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday. Packages may weigh up to 150 lbs, but the average is 25-50 lbs.
- Familiarity with route driving and local geography is beneficial for efficient navigation.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on positive interactions during deliveries.
- Must be able to pass a background check, DOT physical and complete MVR check.

$20 per hour starting pay. Commission pay, daily bonuses and raises available, depending on route and safety, after completing the training period. Saturdays are a must, with a day off during the week, as we are a 6 day a week delivery contractor. Health insurance benefits available after 60 days employment. Time off/Vacation available after 1 year. 401k and matching employer contributions available after 1 year.
