Overview
Location : Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA
Pay : $250 / hr
Position Type : Independent Contractor (1099)
Duty Hours : The Radiology Department is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Services under this task order may be required any day of the week, any time of the day. Each HCW shall normally provide services for a range from eight and a half (8.5) to twelve and a half (12.5) hour periods. A typical work week is five (5) days (0730-1630) and may include weekends and holidays.
On-Call (Off Site) : The HCW shall take general radiology on-call nights and weekends, including holidays. The HCW must respond to a page within ten (10) minutes and be able to interpret images via Government issued laptop within thirty (30) minutes of images becoming available. Compensation for On-Call services is separately priced.
Overage Hours : Should the HCW be required to remain on duty past their regularly scheduled shift, they shall invoice for these hours. It is estimated that the HCW may be required to provide 40 overage hours per year.
Responsibilities
GENERAL DUTIES : Contractor personnel shall perform a full range of duties consistent with their labor category, education, training, experience, clinical privileges (as applicable), and assigned position.
- Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
- Practice aseptic techniques and comply with infection control guidelines.
- Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
- Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols.
- Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed.
- Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient / significant others' rights.
- Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.
- Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth.
- Attend and comply with all annual training classes required by the MTF.
- Actively participate in the MTF’s Performance Improvement Program.
- Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members.
- Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
- Operate and manipulate automated systems such as MHS Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS).
- Exercise appropriate clinical delegation of tasks and duties.
- Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives.
Duties – Specific. Diagnostic Radiologist (General) : The HCW shall provide services within the scope of the clinical privileges granted by the MTF Director.
Qualifications
Degree / Education : See Exhibit 5
Experience : At least one (1) year experience as a general Radiologist within the preceding three (3) years.
Board Certification : Current Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology accredited by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
