Part Time Line Cook

Akahoshi Ramen is seeking a Line Cook to join our team part-time, working Wednesday and Thursday evening shifts. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operations of our restaurant by preparing food during service. We work hard, and we care about the craft of making good food from scratch. Line cooks ensure that our ramen is as high quality as it can be.  The line cook will work in an open kitchen, so cleanliness is substantially important. 

 

 

·      Set up the line and individual station.

·      Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your station and kitchen 

·      Ensure that food is cooked and prepared correctly, be it noodles, soup, or toppings

·      Adhere to all safety and sanitation procedures.

·      Assist with kitchen breakdown after service.

 

 

·      Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role is a plus, but not required.

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations.

·      Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness and order.

·      Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

·      Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

·      Ability to work Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 3:00 – 10:00 pm. 
·      Servsafe Food Handler Certification preferred, but not required

 

Compensation and Benefits: 

·      Pay starts at $22/hr, plus service charge distribution (average is $25/hr)

Akahoshi Ramen is a humble but mighty ramen shop in Chicago Illinois. We take our food seriously, so that our guests don’t have to. Everything is made in house at the restaurant, from the soups, to the noodles, to the toppings.
