As the Host/Hostess at AKAI Sushi-Ya & Izakaya, you will be our guests' first point of contact, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your responsibilities include greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements to ensure efficient service flow. Experience is welcomed but not necessary.
We are looking for individuals who are personable, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks with a positive attitude. This role is offered both part-time and full-time, with the need for availability from 2 pm to midnight. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including medical insurance and vacation time.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner, ensuring they feel at ease from the moment they enter our restaurant.
- Manage the host stand, taking reservations, seating guests, and handling any issues that may arise.
- Provide guests with menus and answer questions about our offerings, specials, and promotions.
- Utilize our POS system to efficiently manage tables
- Ensure the restaurant is running smoothly, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of our menu and drinks, making recommendations when appropriate.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service and maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Skills:
- Experience in the food service industry, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Familiarity with Toast POS or similar systems.
- Knowledge of hospitality practices and standards.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent guest relations and service skills.
