Qualifications
Maintenance Mechanic possessing experience with assembling, installing, maintaining mechanical systems. Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine preventative maintenance. Reading, interpreting, parts determination ability, and following instructions / operation manuals. Maintain task schedules, logs, and data entry into computer-based maintenance system. Aptitude to calibrate, and repair equipment instrumentation. Aptitude to troubleshoot steam equipment, refrigeration systems, compressors, scales, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, heat exchangers, valves, controllers, VFD’s, and electrical systems. Perform other duties as required such as sanitation, plumbing, and ensure a safe /quality work environment. Provides clear and accurate communication skills. Provides willingness to work overtime and flex schedules as required. Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, conveyors, production equipment; facility infrastructure, utilities: follow diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications
- Locates sources of problems by observing equipment / devices in operation; uses precision measuring and testing instruments. Installs, assembles, and tests new machines and equipment; understands and comply with workplace safety regulations
- Inspects equipment regularly for signs of malfunctions and conducts scheduled testing as appropriate.
- Monitors, identifies, and responds promptly to equipment malfunctions such as temperature fluctuations, sounds, vibration, and odor
- Schedules and performs routine preventative maintenance with vendors and peers as required.
- Performs emergency repairs as required
- Uses power and hand tools to perform job functions
- Performs sanitation as required; creates and maintains pm schedules, work orders, and purchase orders.
- Follows GMP protocols and all plant policies to ensure compliance
- Works effectively with all team members
Required Skill/Abilities:
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
- Ability to use hoists, hand and power tools
- Aptitude to use electrical meters, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Adhere to regulatory compliance guidelines and work to prevent noncompliance issues
- Maintains equipment parts and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies; verifies parts and supply receipts
- Skillset to read and understand schematics and prints
- Strong mechanical experience and electrical experience
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended amount of time
- Ability to act competently in emergencies
- Organized and detail-oriented
Education Requirements:
- HS diploma
- Journeyman Electrician
- 3-5 years experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment
