The Stationary Engineer will operate and maintain stationary equipment such as steam boilers, air compressors, generators, wastewater, cooling towers, fire systems and refrigeration equipment and operate automation systems to ensure peak performance of the systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor & adjust/repair operating equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems & determine how to correct issues, checking blueprint, repair manuals, & parts catalogs as necessary.
- Monitor boiler water, boiler chemicals, wastewater chemicals and fuel levels.
- Regularly inspect property for safety & security issues, including but not limited to, non-functioning lights, ground & trip hazards, broken fences, handrails, safety railings, exposed wiring, potholes, and sewer line breaks.
- Proper & safe startup of boilers, refrigeration systems and wastewater systems.
- Test boiler and refrigeration system safeties and record results.
- Assist in basic maintenance repairs.
- Keep plant online by making manual adjustments.
- Back flows, process flows and P&ID awareness.
- Other duties as assigned uses of electronic test equipment.
Work Experience & Education Requirements
- Knowledge of HMI operations and computer electronics, and computer communications.
- Knowledge of operation & uses of various pumps including multi-stage, centrifugal.
- Basic computer skills with office productivity software for e-mail, work processing, & spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Problem solving-the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Three years of relevant experience.
- Second or Third Grade Stationary Engineers license.
