Akerman is seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant for its Fort Lauderdale office. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess a minimum of five (5) years' litigation experience, preferably in a regional or national law firm setting. Qualified candidates must have experience with Florida State/Federal Court filings and possess the ability to calculate deadlines for calendaring. Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office applications is required along with strong proofreading/critical thinking skills; knowledge of litigation support systems is highly desired. It is essential that the applicant be able to communicate with attorneys and co-workers effectively and efficiently, have strong calendaring and organizational skills, be able to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Other job duties include heavy caseload file maintenance, general administrative duties such as expense reporting, arranging attorney travel, and other various duties as assigned.
