Education and Experience:
As a Baler Operator at Akers Packaging Service Group, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining balers used in the recycling and waste management process. - Machine Operation: Manually feeds corrugated scrap into the hogger to break down material. Operates the baler to compact and process recyclable materials into wire-bound bales.
- Material Handling: Operate a fork truck to retrieve corrugated scrap from designated locations. Ensure the proper loading of materials into the baler, optimizing capacity and efficiency.
- Maintenance: Monitors the operation of the dust collection system and performs routine cleaning to ensure optimal machine performance, and promptly report any malfunctions or issues to maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Quality Control: Maintains raw material or tooling, follows quality standards and maintains housekeeping.
- Waste Management: Ensure that waste materials are properly stored and processed for disposal or recycling.
- Documentation: Completes paperwork as required. Maintain accurate records of baler operations, activities, and recycling data.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to assist the flow of materials and products. Assist team as necessary and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and plant management.

Education and Experience:
- 18 years of age or older
- GED or high school diploma, 1-3 months experience or combination of education and experience
- Mathematical skills required for counting, measuring, reading, and converting data.
