Job Summary:
Akicita Federal is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Specialist to support our growth in federal contracting. This role requires a dynamic individual with expertise in proposal writing, pricing strategies, federal procurement, and networking. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in business development for federal contractors, a solid understanding of modern technology, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Development: Write, edit, and submit compliant, compelling, and well-structured proposals tailored to federal solicitations, including RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs.
- Pricing Strategy: Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive and accurate pricing models that align with contract requirements and company objectives.
- Capture Management: Lead and support the capture of bids by identifying opportunities, assessing requirements, and creating winning strategies.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify potential opportunities, assess competition, and understand client needs.
- Networking and Relationship Building: Leverage existing networks and build new connections within government agencies, teaming partners, and industry organizations to identify opportunities and foster relationships.
- Federal Procurement Cycle: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, including pre-award, award, and post-award phases, ensuring timely and strategic engagement.
- Growth and Retention: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities to expand the company’s footprint.
- Technology Utilization: Utilize modern tools and software for market research, proposal development, and CRM to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including operations, legal, and finance, to ensure alignment and seamless execution of business development activities.
Qualifications:
- Proposal Writing: Demonstrated expertise in writing and managing successful federal proposals.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), government contracting processes, and procurement cycles.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with modern technology, including CRM platforms, proposal tools, and market research software.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Networking: Proven ability to network effectively within government agencies and industry circles.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, especially in pricing and opportunity assessments.
