Job Overview:
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will provide comprehensive primary care services within the Indian Health Service (IHS) framework. The FNP will work in various healthcare settings, including outpatient clinics and urgent care, to diagnose, treat, and manage patient health conditions while emphasizing disease prevention and health promotion.
Location: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF), Navajo Area Indian Health Service
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications and therapies as needed.
Provide preventive healthcare services, including immunizations, screenings, and patient education.
Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when necessary.
Participate in hospital and department meetings as required by Chinle Hospital administration.
Adhere to HIPAA and IHS policies to maintain patient confidentiality and security.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Unrestricted license to practice as an FNP in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration for Schedule II-V medications.
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a primary care or urgent care setting.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday ( 40 Hours/week)
