Job Overview:
The Physician Assistant will provide outpatient professional medical services within the Indian Health Service (IHS) framework. The PA will work in various settings, including the Urgent Care Department, Emergency Room, and other healthcare facilities in the Navajo IHS Areas. The role requires adherence to medical care standards, participation in patient care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure quality service delivery.
Location: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF), Navajo Area Indian Health Service
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct outpatient clinics, assess patient conditions, and provide medical treatment.
Review medical history, perform diagnostic tests, and create comprehensive treatment plans.
Provide emergency care and handle a range of medical conditions that do not require specialist referrals.
Counsel patients on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Refer patients to specialized care when necessary and ensure timely follow-up.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Attend department and medical staff meetings at Chinle Hospital.
Adhere to HIPAA and IHS regulations for patient information security.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Valid, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday ( 40 hours/week)
