Akira Technologies is seeking a skilled Jira Developer to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) by implementing enhanced business operations workflows, governance structures, and strategic communication initiatives. This role will also play a critical part in fostering effective stakeholder engagement and driving the adoption of cutting-edge digital solutions.
Work is predominantly remote with occasional on-site meetings in the DC Metro Area. The role supports the DoD, hence an active security clearance is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and maintain Jira workflows to streamline business operations in alignment with CDAO objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address process inefficiencies, ensuring workflows support governance and operational goals.
- Implement automation rules and scripts using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, or equivalent tools to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
- Integrate Jira with other Atlassian products and external tools, enabling seamless data exchange and enhanced collaboration.
- Design dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time insights into operational metrics and progress toward strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate clear communication of digital transformation efforts through customized tools and platforms.
- Develop and enforce governance standards within Jira and the broader Atlassian ecosystem to ensure consistent application of best practices.
- Work with the CDAO team to ensure all configurations comply with security, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, the CDAO, and other stakeholders to align Jira configurations with business needs.
- Support cross-functional teams by configuring tools to enhance collaboration and drive engagement.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, configurations, and integrations to support knowledge transfer and auditing.
- Provide training and technical support to users, ensuring effective use of Jira and associated tools across the organization.
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Jira Developer or in a similar role, with deep expertise in configuring Jira Service Desk and the Atlassian suite.
- Strong understanding of business operations workflows and governance frameworks, ideally within a government or defense setting.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript) and integrating systems using REST APIs.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and Agile/DevOps methodologies is preferred.
- Active Secret clearance or higher.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000
