Akira is building a talent pipeline for a future Network Administrator position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operations. Ideal candidates should be based in the DC Metro Area or willing to relocate.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement and maintain network security measures.
- Manage VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Support and maintain encryption devices, with a preference for experience using Taclane.
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize network efficiency and security.
- Maintain network documentation and operational procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum years of experience in network administration: 0-3 years (Junior), 3-5 years (Mid), 5-7 years (Senior), 7 years (Lead).
- Proficiency with networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Security , or CISSP).
- Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with Taclane encryption devices.
- Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) for network automation.
