Position Overview:
As the Service Manager for our pest control team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing and developing our technician team, ensuring exceptional service quality, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Your role will be pivotal in driving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the growth of our business through effective management and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate daily pest control service activities, ensuring all jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
- Monitor route efficiency from both a technician perspective and an office routing perspective, making adjustments as needed to optimize service delivery.
Team Supervision and Development:
- Lead, train, and support pest control technicians, handling performance management, scheduling, and conducting regular team meetings.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.
Customer Relations:
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and prompt resolution of issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure long-term loyalty and repeat business.
Quality Control:
- Monitor and ensure service quality by conducting regular inspections, audits, and reviews of technician performance and pest control treatments.
- Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations related to pest control services, including proper use and handling of pesticides and equipment.
- Provide ongoing safety training and ensure all staff adhere to company and industry safety standards.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels of pest control products, equipment, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock and timely ordering.
- Collaborate with the inventory team (Rosie & Bobby) to maintain an efficient supply chain and prevent service interruptions.
Scheduling and Dispatching:
- Plan and manage service routes and technician schedules to maximize efficiency and coverage.
- Ensure timely and effective communication between the office staff and field technicians regarding daily schedules.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of service reports, technician activities, customer interactions, and compliance documentation.
- Review work orders regularly, train staff to ensure accuracy in documentation, and maintain high standards of record-keeping.
Training and Development:
- Develop and implement training programs for new hires and provide ongoing training for existing staff.
- Ensure that all team members are up-to-date on the latest pest control techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.
Termite Certification and Quality Assurance:
- Obtain certification in Termite Category 12 and become proficient in all aspects of termite control.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of termite rigs, ensuring quality control in all termite services.
Sales Support:
- Work closely with the sales team to identify upsell opportunities and provide technical support during the acquisition of new clients.
- Collaborate on developing customized pest control solutions that meet the specific needs of prospective clients.
Problem Solving and Decision Making:
- Analyze service data, identify operational issues, and implement effective solutions to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic input to senior management on ways to optimize operations and achieve business goals.
Collaboration with Management:
- Communicate regularly with senior management regarding operational performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and strategies.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, repaired, and replaced as needed.
- Develop and implement equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Field Support:
- Occasionally provide on-site support for complex or high-priority jobs, demonstrating best practices and providing guidance to technicians.
- Act as a field expert, offering technical assistance and ensuring that the highest standards of service are met.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in pest control services.
State-certified pest control applicator's license.
Proven leadership experience in managing a team of pest control technicians.
Strong knowledge of pest control products, equipment, and treatment methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
